1. What is the lifetime of a solar power system?

A solar power system consists of a several components. The main component, the Solar panels have a lifetime exceeding 25 years. Our solar panels have a performance guarantee for up to 25 years.

The inverter of the solar system comes with a warranty of 5 years. It is possible to purchase an extended warranty for the inverter if required. Inverters from SMA are designed for a lifespan of 20+ years, and inverters from Zeversolar are designed for a lifespan of 10-12 years. The inverter can be replaced with a newer model if required.

  1. What happens in the event of a power outage?

The solar power system will automatically power down during a power outage. This is a necessary precaution required by the utility company. Power cannot be obtained from the system during power outages.

  1. What happens during cloudy or rainy periods?

Credits for electricity generated from periods of strong sunlight will be retained by the CEB, and can be used during the rainy periods. The system’s reduced output during cloudy or raining periods will be compensated by the power generated during periods of strong sunlight.
